Felt:

robin’s egg blue – toy0580 (random circles) 

periwinkle – toy0581 (block and random circles)

purple sage – wcf0582 (random circles)

pistachio ice cream – toy0703 (leaf)

blue spruce – wcf0539 (grass)

copper – wcf0661 (shell)

pumpkin spice – wcf0650 (head and tail)

Floss:

pistachio ice cream – 772

blue spruce – 502

copper – 920

pumpkin spice – 976

DIRECTIONS – Refer to pattern and photo for applique placements and cutting instructions.

1] Make a copy of the pattern.

2] Cut out felt using material list above and transfer any embroidery markings. Cut grass using landscape "B". Note: when cutting out random flowers, do not cut perfect circles. The flowers are meant to be slightly askew. Refer to photo.

3] Using a blanket stitch along the top and a running stitch along the 2 sides and bottom, sew grass to block using 3 strands of #502.

4] Using a running, sew leaf to block using 2 strands #772.

5] Using a running stitch, sew head and tail to block using 2 strands #976.

6] Using a blanket stitch. sew shell to block using 3 strands #920.

7] Using a stem stitch, add shell swirl to shell using 6 strands #976.

8] Using a straight stitch, add straight markings to shell using 6 strands #976.

9] Using a stem stitch, add antenna using 6 strands of #920.

10] French knot eye using 6 strands #920.

11] Using a stem stitch, add detail to leaf using 6 strands #772.

12] Using a straight stitch, sew center flower circles to outer flower circles using 6 strands #772. Note: the outside of the circles are not sewn down.

13] Using a stem stitch, add stems and leaves to random flowers using 6 strands #772.
