MATERIALS

Felt:

old gold – wcf0420 (block)

antique white – wcf1102 (body)

licorice – toy2003 (head, ear, legs and tail)

Floss:

antique white – 3865

slate – 3799

DIRECTIONS – Refer to pattern and photo for applique placements and cutting instructions.

1] Make a copy of the pattern.

2] Cut out felt using material list above and pattern. Transfer any embroidery markings.

3] Position sheep on block. Using a running stitch, sew legs, tail and head to block using 2 strands #3799. The leg, tail and head seams should be under the sheep’s body.

4] Using a blanket stitch, sew body to block using 3 strands #3865. 

5] Using a running stitch, sew ear to head using 2 strands #3799. Note: only sew along short, straight edge. The rest of the ear should hang free.

6] French knot an eye using 6 strands #3865.

7] Using a stem stitch, embroider swirls using 6 strands #3799.
