MATERIALS

Felt:

robin’s egg blue – toy0580 (block and flower piece F)

pistachio ice cream – toy0703 (grass-landscape "B")

purple sage – wcf0582 (flower pieces A and G and random flowers) 

buttercup – wcf0409 (flower pieces B and E and random flowers)

periwinkle – toy0581 (flower pieces C and I and random flowers)

white – wcf1100 (flower pieces D and H and random flowers) 

loden – wcf0709 (leaves)

Floss:

pistachio ice cream – 772

purple sage – 161

buttercup – 3078

white – white

periwinkle – 340

loden – 522

DIRECTIONS – Refer to pattern and photo for applique placements and cutting instructions.

1] Make a copy of the pattern.

2] Cut out felt using material list above and transfer any embroidery markings. Cut out grass using landscape "B". Note: when cutting out random flowers, do not cut perfect circles. The flowers are meant to be slightly askew. Refer to photo. 

3] Using a blanket stitch on the top and a running stitch along the 2 sides and bottom, sew grass to block using 3 strands of #772.

4] Using a blanket stitch, sew flower piece H to block using 3 strands #white.

5] Using a running stitch, sew flower piece I to flower using 2 strands #340.

6] Using a blanket stitch, sew flower piece A to block using 3 strands #161.

7] Using a blanket stitch, sew flower piece B to flower using 3 strands #3078.

8] Position flower piece C on flower. Do not sew on.

9] Using a running stitch, sew flower piece D to flower using 2 strands #white.

10] Using a blanket stitch, sew flower piece E to blocking using 3 strands #3078.

11] Position flower piece F on flower. Do not sew on. 

12] Using a running stitch, sew flower piece G to flower using 2 strands #161. 

13] Using a stem stitch, embroider 3 large flower stems using 6 strands #522.

14] Using a running stitch, sew leaves to stems using 2 strands #522.

15] Using a stem stitch, embroider leaf vein using 3 strands #522.

16] Using a running stitch, sew center random flower circles to outer random flower circles using 2 strands of matching floss. Note: The outside of the circles are not sewn down.

17] Using a stem stitch, sew on random flower stems using 3 strands #522.
